This website is a place to showcase innovative homecoming decorations that are homemade and inexpensive. I want to share ideas between schools! You may submit photos with plans/directions on how to achieve the decoration and a budget of the item. I will collect these items with the hope of creating a book someday. You will be given credit for your creations (first names, last name initial, school name and year).

Asian Homecoming? Entrance with Cherry Blossoms
To create the cherry blossom trees....
#1) Use jigsaw to cut out basic tree trunk and branches with a squared frame around the top (to attach wire to later). Do two that are exactly the same if you want a two sided tree.
#2) Staple chicken wire across the open parts of the tree. If you are doing a two sided tree, do this for both sides. Then line up the sides so the match and use some wood scraps (2x2 is best) as a spacer between the sides.
#3) Add paint details in black to make bark on the wood.
#4) Use white, dark pink and light pink pomps to create the cherry blossoms. You do not need to pomp every hole in the chicken wire. In fact, that can look too crowded.
